The Delta Caucus would like to pay tribute to the late, great U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi, a powerful force in the US Senate for decades and a champion for the Delta. Sen. Cochran passed away on May 30, 2019. He spoke to the Delta Caucus on many occasions over the years (he is pictured above speaking to a Caucus event on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC) and his thoughtful, courteous and bipartisan leadership will be sorely missed.

Remember to Support Our Many Veterans in the Greater Delta and the Rest of the Country

The Delta Grassroots Caucus would like to remind our colleagues across the 8-state Greater Mississippi Delta Region to support the many veterans in our region.

The Delta from Louisiana and Mississippi through Arkansas and west Tennessee to southeastern Missouri and southern Illinois has an unusually large percentage of veterans. We would like to relay a very constructive message from our distinguished colleague Darren Peters on this subject:

“If you are friends with me, you should be aware of my sentiments regarding Veterans, so I am bringing it up. I am fairly confident that I already know two individuals who will assist, but I am hopeful that I will receive four responses, as this is a pressing concern.”

Twenty-two Veterans succumb to their struggles daily. May I request that two friends or family members copy and repost this message?

Someone’s life may depend on it. ❤️‍🩹
